Washington, DC is ripe with history

Recently, WDCEP has seen an uptick in retailers and developers interested in adapting historic spaces for modern commercial uses.   They hope for an authentic customer experience.  So, they look for buildings that have character and connection to the neighborhood around them. This map highlights the buildings you may pass by every day that have an interesting history. The buildings are in commercial or industrial zones of DC.

This map is not comprehensive, but a guide to  some of DC’s commercial buildings with an intriguing past. We started this list with the help of the DC Office of Planning and the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.
