The 2017 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase, Keynote Speakers Announced

David Rubenstein to Speak at the Washington DC Economic Partnership’s  2017 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase on December 12

November 30, 2017 (Washington, D.C.) – The Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) is proud to announce their featured speaker at its 2017 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase, WDCEP’s annual luncheon that celebrates Washington, D.C.’s thriving economic ecosystem. David M.Rubenstein, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of The Carlyle Group, will discuss how business, culture and community will continue to shape the future of Washington, D.C.’s economic landscape.

The luncheon will also feature speakers from the public and private sector, including DC Mayor Muriel Bowser; Richard Lake, the Managing Principal of Roadside Development; DC Councilmember Jack Evans; and Brian Kenner, the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.

During the Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase, WDCEP will bring together over 700 business and government leaders to celebrate the future of DC. The ECON Showcase will include over 60 local businesses and government resources and feature a dedicated ‘Maker Pavillion’ to highlight local creative businesses. This year’s annual meeting will mark 17 years of WDCEP’s contribution to the District’s economy and celebrate the city’s accomplishments achieved throughout the year.

WDCEP’s Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase will also mark the release of its yearly publication, the DC Development Report, which provides an overview of DC’s major development and construction projects.
