The Washington, DC Economic Partnership is a public/private partnership that promotes Washington, DC’s business opportunities and resources to attract, develop, and retain businesses for the nation’s capital. The Economic Partnership is your first point of contact for doing business in Washington, DC. Information and services provided by the Economic Partnership include:

District of Columbia Chamber of Commerce
The DC Chamber of Commerce is a member organization that advocates for businesses in Washington, DC. Established in 1938, the Chamber now represents over 2,000 member companies in the DC area. It offers educational seminars and networking opportunities for businesses to enhance their success, and advocates for changes in federal and local laws that impact business growth and development in the District.

DC Chamber of Commerce Business Resource Center
The DC Chamber of Commerce Business Resource Center (formerly the Georgia Avenue Business Resource Center), was established to serve neighborhood-based businesses in the District. The Center provides personal and technical assistance on small business start-up and development including business and marketing plans, research, and referrals to loan programs and assistance with grant and loan application review, etc. The Center has a computer lab equipped with Internet access, and business planning software. They also offer basic computer training.

National Women's Business Center (NWBC)
NWBC was created to assist women in starting or growing their own businesses. They offer many classes ranging from business taxes to legal advice and workshops run by volunteer instructors from the business world. Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) is a nationwide non-profit volunteer association of retired and active small business owners, executives, and professionals who donate their time to counsel aspiring and existing small business owners. As a resource partner of the U.S. SBA, it provides free counseling and low-cost workshops to small businesses. The Washington, DC Chapter has over 54 members experienced in owning and operating both small and large businesses in almost every field. DC Public Library (The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library)
The MLK Public Library has business reference librarians and resources for starting and running a business. For more information, please go to www.dclibrary.org. The Enhanced Business Information Center (e-BIC, see description on page 53) is located within the library.

Washington, DC Small Business Development Center (DCSBDC)
Through its six centers in the city, DCSBDC delivers affordable training courses for entrepreneurs, small business owners and managers in business planning, management of a small business, accounting, marketing, 8(a) certification, international business, and more.

Washington, DC Technology Council
The DC Tech Council is a membership organization of technology, associate, and affiliate companies. The Council holds networking and informative events in four areas of focus: Capital Formation, Workforce Development, Business Development and Technology Policy. DC Minority Development Business Center (DCMBDC)
DCMBDC is a business development center that helps minority owned businesses gain equal footing in the marketplace. It works with large and growth-oriented minority owned companies in the Washington, DC area to reach their highest level of performance.

The Greater Washington Board of Trade’s Small Business Partnership (SBP)
The Small Business Partnership (SBP) provides time-based training and business development opportunities for small companies in the greater Washington area. Greater Washington Ibero American Chamber of Commerce
The Ibero American Chamber of Commerce primarily serves the growing Spanish-speaking small business and entrepreneurial community by assisting, advocating and developing Hispanic businesses, and promoting them internationally.
